Jarrang MD To Represent UK As Digital Pioneer In Hong Kong - 01.03.07

Managing Director of Jarrang, Stafford Sumner will gain a unique insight into how business is done in Asia after being selected by the British Council to be an ambassador for the UK Digital Media Industry. Stafford was selected as a Digital Pioneer after impressing judges with his business vision.

As a result he will travel to Hong Kong in March as one of only three representatives from the UK. Having been identified as a future leader in the international creative economy, Stafford will learn about Asian commerce and how to develop business in the former colony.

“This is a really exciting achievement for us as a company, and good recognition of our aims and objectives,” said Stafford, who formed Jarrang in 2003. “The great thing about email marketing is that we can be anywhere in the world and still offer a high quality service to our clients."

With a policy of consistently improving IT infrastructure to improve levels of support, Stafford believes that Jarrang will be able to work worldwide more efficiently. He said: “What this trip will offer me is a chance to explore new markets which is important to our long term objectives.”

By maximising their use of the internet, developing innovative solutions and constantly updating IT infrastructure, Stafford and his team of five, plan to target new markets in Australia, Asia and the United States.

“We already carry out email marketing campaigns throughout Europe, but I'd like to increase that by replicating our business model in these new regions.

“As part of our international growth strategy, we have recently refreshed our online brand to support our global reach whilst maintaining a local view of regional markets. I will be actively looking for support in Hong Kong which will enable us to take this further.”

Stafford, who will be assigned a mentor to help develop contacts in the region, will also attend an awards ceremony and take part in the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum held at Cyberport, the revolutionary digital city in Hong Kong.

“The initial visit involves meeting business leaders from the region and is focussed on international, cross cultural networking, which is crucial for developing future partnerships.”

A second trip is planned later this year when he hopes to further develop Jarrang's business presence in Asia.
